Battery Center Lab Services Manager, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory

Sam joined SLAC as the Battery Center Lab Services Manager in July 2023. Prior to joining SLAC he was teaching chemistry at Mesa College, and the engineering of coffee at the University of San Diego. He worked for Yitai Coal Company and Synfuels China developing operando XAS and XMCD techniques. Sam is happy to be back at SLAC, as he did a postdoc with the SUNCAT group here. His Ph.D. dissertation, within Susannah Scott’s group at UCSB, focused on spectroscopic investigations of oxide supports used in heterogeneous catalysis.
